Week 8 concludes with the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers battling it out on “Monday Night Football.” Come chat with us in our open thread.
The New York Giants (2-5) and Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) close out Week 8 with an inter-conference battle on “Monday Night Football.” These two teams have met 78 times in their histories, with the Giants holding a 44-31-3 regular season edge, while the Steelers have won the last three matchups, the most recent being in 2020.
The Giants defense is solid but they’re not good enough to overcome the deficiencies on offense. In Week 7, Daniel Jones failed to break the 100-yard passing mark as he has looked completely out of sync with his skill players. His offensive line isn’t helping him much, as they gave up seven sacks on 21 dropbacks last week against the Eagles. Yikes.
The Steelers’ offense is humming and they have put up 30 points in each of the previous two games, despite making a quarterback switch. The insertion of Russell Wilson has opened up the passing attack. The defense is solid, as always, and they’ll have a chance to feast on a Giants offense that is underwhelming.
Betting line and pick for the game
The folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook are favoring Pittsburgh in this game and have opened the betting line at Steelers -5.5 points.
The Steelers look like the better team in basically every phase and I expect them to win this game handily.
Prediction: Steelers 28-14
