Things are looking worse than better for the Bengals star.
The Cincinnati Bengals star receivers have been in the news for multiple reasons this year. Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase have both had ongoing contract conversations and have also had strong performances on the field.
For Higgins, he has, throughout the last few seasons, battled numerous injuries that have sidelined him for multiple weeks at a time, and those may continue to sideline him in an important Week 8 battle with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
The Bengals, who started the season 0-3, have battled back to be 3-4 and now have a chance to be .500 for the first time since the start of 2024. However, they may be without Higgins, who picked up a quad injury in practice this week.
Per ESPN’s Dan Graziano, there’s “pessimism” about whether or not the star receiver will take the field Sunday.
Per sources, there’s a real chance Bengals WR Tee Higgins, who injured his quad in Friday’s practice, has to miss Sunday’s game against the Eagles. The Bengals are planning to go right up until game time before deciding, but there’s pessimism about his chances to play.

Higgins has been a key weapon for Burrow this season. He has gone for 60 or more yards in four of the five games he’s played in and also hit at least six receptions in three of those five.
With three touchdowns on the season, Higgins has been a threat in the red zone as well, especially considering his 6-foot-4 frame.
If Higgins misses, the Bengals will likely have players like Charlie Jones and Andrei Iosivas step up. But, it is difficult to replace the production you get from a weapon like Higgins.
We’ll see how this develops as we head into Sunday morning’s inactives report.
