The Bengals season has gotten off to a rough start, and Burrow knows it, but he’s not ready to give up.
The Cincinnati Bengals absolutely dominated the fourth quarter of the game against the Philadelphia Eagles after keeping it close through the first three.
In a must-win game, this was an embarrassing performance for the Bengals. The season isn’t over yet, of course, but the team is in a rough position, and Joe Burrow knows that with the quotes he gave in his postgame presser.
“We’re not good enough,” he said.

And that’s simply just the case right now in Cincinnati.
A lot of blame can be laid on the defense, but the offense only scored 17 points after bad performances the prior two weeks and made some major mistakes putting the defense in tough positions with a turnover on downs, a fumble, a missed field goal, and an interception.
I am not removing blame from the defense, but three of the Eagles’ touchdown drives started from great field position due to the previously mentioned mistakes.
The Bengals’ season is still far from over, and there have been signs of life where one side of the ball has played well for a time, but they need to put it all together and fast. They only have a couple more losses they can afford if they want to make the NFL Playoffs, as Burrow mentions here, knowing they still have a shot.
Joe Burrow on digging out of a 3-5 hole: “I think 10 wins usually gets you in. So we have to win 7 out of 9. That is doable. It’s doable. So, we’ll go from there.”

Whatever happens, the Bengals need to figure it out quickly. They can’t risk wasting any more of the prime years of Joe Burrow’s career, which is sadly the case so far in this season.
