Our fans answer the question
It’s time to check the results of our SB Nation Reacts poll for this week, ladies and gentlemen, as we asked Minnesota Vikings fans about what’s going on with our favorite team as things stand eight weeks into the 2024 NFL season. Let’s take a look at what everyone thought of our questions for this week.
First off, we asked our usual question about what everyone thinks about the direction that the Vikings are headed in. Keep in mind that these results were compiled prior to the Vikings’ Thursday night loss to the Los Angeles Rams and the season-ending injury to Christian Darrisaw.
Well, people were feeling pretty good about the team before Thursday night, as 90% of our respondents said that they were confident the team was heading in the right direction. Color me crazy if you’d like, but I have a strange feeling that the number we’re going to see next week will be quite the drop-off from that 90% figure. Hopefully I’m wrong. . .after all, this team is still 5-2.
The other question we asked this week had to do with the news that the Vikings’ game against the Indianapolis Colts for Week 9 was moved into a prime time slot on Sunday Night Football. We asked if you like the Vikings getting flexed into prime time, and the results were a lot closer than I thought they might be.
Of those who responded to our poll, 53% of them do, in fact, like the fact that the Vikings’ game next week was moved into prime time. Maybe the days of being scared of having the spotlight are finally over.
I will say, however, that I’m in the minority on this one. I’ve said numerous times that I do like the “normal” noon Central time kickoff for Vikings games. Maybe it’s just because I’m getting a bit older, but games getting over at half past ten on Sunday night makes for a pretty long Monday morning at work. Again, that’s just personal preference, but I’m actually a bit surprised that the majority of Vikings fans don’t mind the game being flexed.
Another thing about that game that’s a bit worrisome is the current betting line. According to our friends at FanDuel, the Vikings currently sit as a 6.5-point favorite over the Colts in this matchup. Given that the Colts could be sitting at 5-3 themselves by the time they come to U.S. Bank Stadium next week, that seems like a pretty big number.
Those are the results of our SB Nation Reacts questions for this week, folks. Thanks to everyone who took the time to participate in our survey, and we’ll be back with more questions next week.
