Here’s everything you need to know about the Eagles’ Week 8 road game.
The Philadelphia Eagles (4-2) are on a two-game win streak, and are back on the road in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals (3-4), as they hope to extend that streak to three.
This matchup was originally scheduled for the late-game time slot, but was flexed to 1:00 PM and is nearly a nationally televised game as a result. The Eagles are starting to create some momentum with two wins in a row coming out of the bye, but the Bengals losses haven’t been blowouts — they haven’t lost by more than one touchdown this season —, so this should be a competitive game.
The Eagles offense still took a few drives to really establish things last week against the Giants, but they were able to start rolling and leaned heavily on the run game. Even when Saquon Barkley puts up numbers like 187 total offensive yards and 17 carries, A.J. Brown still had himself a day with 89 yards and a touchdown.
The energy is starting to shift for the team, and you can start to see it in the defense and how dominant they can be in the pass rush, and in the offensive line who paved the way for 269 rushing yards without two starters on the field. It’s obvious that head coach Nick Sirianni still has the support of the team, and the vibes are vibing again.
This will be a personal game for second-year DB Sydney Brown, who not only will take the field in his second game back from injury, but he’ll be eyeing to make a stop on Bengals’ RB Chase Brown — his identical twin brother. Sirianni talked about how cool that moment will be for the brothers, and how the assumed jersey swap between the two after the game will probably be a cherished memory.
“SIRIANNI: I think that’s a special moment for their mom. I think that’s a special moment for their family. I think that’s a special moment for them to be able to – I’m assuming they’re trading jerseys after the game. Because for forever, they’ve been on the same team, right? High school, college. And now there’s an opportunity for them to go against each other.”

History Lesson
The Bengals lead the all-time series between these teams, 9-3-2, and the most-recent four meetings ended in two wins for the Bengals and two ties. Head coach Nick Sirianni said that it’s not productive for the team to focus on the Eagles never having won in Cincinnati — noting he didn’t even know that was the case until his press conference on Friday — and that they’re just preparing to compete in a hostile environment against a great team.
