Defensive end Genard Avery has been ruled OUT Sunday’s game against the Texans due to a foot injury. Avery has not practiced all week due to the injury. Avery is a depth piece along the defensive line and has been called on to provide support for a previously thin group through injury.
Linebacker Jayron Carlies has been ruled OUT Sunday’s game against the Texans due to fibula and shoulder injuries. Carlies had been the Colts third linebacker coming in the field primarily during passing situations. Expect Grant Stuard to replace him in the line up.
Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner listed as QUESTIONABLE for Sunday’s game against the Texans with an ankle injury. Buckner is making his way back from an ankle injury that landed him on injured reserve. Buckner did manage to practice this week but had a scheduled rest day off from practice today. If he can play on Sunday it would be a huge boost for a struggling defense. If he is unable to play then expect Taven Bryan to continue to start in his place.
All others listed on the injury report go into the game without an injury designation so a return to game action for Jonathan Taylor is set for Sunday. Downs, Pittman, Smith and Kelly also go into the game designation free as deemed healthy enough to play in a big AFC South divisional game.
