The Detroit Lions released their Week 8 Thursday injury report ahead of their upcoming matchup with the Tennessee Titans.

The Detroit Lions will face the Tennessee Titans in Week 8 and both teams were back on the practice field on Thursday. The Lions returned all their resting player to practice on Thursday, leaving only one player unable to participate.

Let’s take a look at Thursday’s injury report and get you up to date with what we know. Note that any changes from yesterday’s report will be bolded.

Injured reserve

  • S Ifeatu Melifonwu (ankle) — injured reserve, eligible to return in Week 9

Normally, we only do updates on players on injured reserve on Wednesday, but our own Jeremy Reisman spotted Ifeatu Melifonwu working with trainers off to the side of practice on Thursday, which is update-worthy. While he remains on injured reserve, working with trainers is typically a precursor to starting a player’s injury evaluation window. Melifonwu becomes eligible for this opportunity next week, and if healthy, could return to practice relatively soon. Now, that being said, when he returns is all contingent on how quickly he rehabilitates. But regardless, after not practicing since Week 1, this is a step in the right direction.

No practice

  • DL Josh Paschal (illness)

Paschal has now missed his second practice in a row, and while an illness can be recovered from quickly, it’s worth keeping in mind that certain illnesses can linger. Expect an update on Paschal’s status on Friday, when coach Dan Campbell holds his next press conference.

Limited practice

  • None

Full practice

  • LT Taylor Decker (rest)
  • LG Graham Glasgow (rest)
  • C Frank Ragnow (rest)
  • RG Kevin Zeitler (groin)
  • G Christian Mahogany (illness, NFI) —Still on NFI: 5 days remain in the evaluation window
  • DL Levi Onwuzurike (rest)

Decker, Glasgow, Ragnow, and Onwuzurike all returned to practice on Thursday after getting veterans rest day on Wednesday. They should be good to go for Sunday.

Zeitler injured his hamstring in practice one week ago, and while he missed Week 7, he has now practiced in full twice this week, which is an encouraging sign he will be able to start at right guard against the Titans.

Mahogany continues to progress through the evaluation window, and while a decision on his status is not expected to be made this week, the clock runs out next Tuesday.

Titans’ Thursday injury report

No Practice (starters are bolded)

  • WR Calvin Ridley (foot)
  • OT Jaelyn Duncan (hamstring)
  • LB Jerome Baker (rest) — acquired via trade Wednesday
  • CB L’Jarius Sneed (quad)

Limited

  • QB Will Levis (shoulder) — not expected to start this week
  • RB Tyjae Spears (hamstring)
  • DT T’Vondre Sweat (hip) — ADDED to the injury report on Thursday
  • LB Kenneth Murray (shoulder) — DOWNGRADED from full practice on Wednesday

Full Participation

  • RB Julius Chestnut (calf) — upgraded from limited practice on Wednesday
