After being cut by the Philadelphia Eagles on October 8, Devin White has finally found a new NFL home.
White officially signed with the Houston Texans, who have been dealing with multiple linebacker injuries, on Wednesday morning.
It’ll be interesting to see how White fares on the Texans after he failed to stick in Philly.
This news is also relevant since White and the Eagles reportedly worked out a deal where the Birds can get some cap relief (likely slight, though better than none at all) with another team signing him. So, there’s that.
In Houston, White will be working with multiple coaches who have history with the Eagles:
- Head coach DeMeco Ryans, who obviously played linebacker for the Eagles from 2012-2015.
- Defensive coordinator Matt Burke, who was an Eagles defensive special assistant in 2019 before shifting to run game coordinator/defensive line coach in 2020.
- Linebackers coach Bill Davis, who was the Eagles’ defensive coordinator from 2013-2015 during the Chip Kelly era.
