And it’s awesome, like you’d expect
Back in 2000, a pair of Minnesota stars who were among the biggest names in their respective sports got together for an ESPN: The Magazine photo shoot that is still talked about today. Nearly a quarter of a century later, a new generation of Minnesota stars has run it back.

Minnesota Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson and Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Anthony Edwards have re-created the iconic photo series that Randy Moss and Kevin Garnett from all those years ago, and it’s just as awesome as you’d expect it to be. You can see the comparison between the two in the tweet above from Ari Meirov, and there are many more pictures on the team’s official website, as well as at ESPN.
Jefferson, as we know, is the best wide receiver in the National Football League, having already set numerous records and currently on pace to set a lot more of them before his time is finished. Edwards exploded onto the scene this past year during the Timberwolves’ run to the NBA’s Western Conference Finals, though folks around here knew just how good he was well before that.
Jefferson signed a contract that will keep him in Minnesota for many years, while Edwards signed a five-year extension with the Timberwolves in 2023. They’ll be leading this generation of Minnesota sports, and it certainly appears as though the state of sports in Minnesota is in very good hands going forward.
What do you think of the photo shoot, folks? I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about it in the coming days, and though we can’t really share many of the photos here, it’s still pretty great to see them come to light.
