The Bengals are making moves as they prepare for the Eagles.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Cincinnati Bengals made the announcement they had signed offensive lineman Andrew Coker to the practice squad and waived defensive tackle Domenique Davis.

Coker was an undrafted free agent out of TCU after the 2023 college season. He was signed by the Las Vegas Raiders, but was waived prior to the season. The Birmingham Stallions of the UFL used their seventh-round selection on him in July of this year, but waived him in August. He has not been with an NFL team throughout the preseason or regular season, until now.

He joins the Bengals as the team is dealing with an injury to left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., whose availability this weekend against the Eagles is in doubt. He was replaced by Cody Ford, who usually acts as the team’s sixth offensive lineman. That duty then went to rookie center Matt Lee.

It’s likely Coker is being signed as a practice body as the Bengals figure out the length of time, if any, that Brown is kept off the field.

The Bengals releasing Davis comes after the resurgence of the defense over the last two weeks, which corresponds with the healthy return of Sheldon Rankins, BJ Hill, Myles Murphy and McKinnley Jackson.

Now that Lou Anarumo’s defensive front is at full strength, the team obviously feels the need for practice squad players is somewhere other than defensive tackle.

Stay tuned as the Bengals shape their roster in preparation of their Week 8 game against the Eagles.
