It appears as if both Bengals starters avoided a serious injury, and both aren’t ruled out in Week 8.

The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Browns in Cleveland on Sunday, winning their third win of the season. They’re now just a win over the Eagles at home away from a .500 record.

Their win over the Browns wasn’t without cost, though. Starting left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. left the field and eventually went to the locker room with a calf injury, and starting safety Geno Stone was carted off the field with an air cast on his lower leg.

However, according to head coach Zac Taylor, neither injury is very serious, and it’s possible that one or both could play Sunday against the Eagles.

“I think he’ll be obviously sore this week,” Taylor said of Stone during his Monday press conference. “He’s got a pretty good contusion, but I like his chances. And Orlando will be questionable this week as we work through that one. But again, both those guys having to come out and miss the (Browns) game…to see that it’s gonna be certainly more short term Is a positive.”

When Brown left the game, he was replaced by Cody Ford, who earned a run blocking grade of 51.7 as a run blocker and a 21.7 as a pass blocker, allowing three pressures and yielding one sack, per PFF. In fairness, though, he was facing Myles Garrett.

Stone was replaced by Jordan Battle (60 in run defense and 64.6 in coverage, per PFF), and DJ Ivey even came in as an extra safety on a few plays.

It appears as though if only one of the two are able to go on Sunday against the Eagles it will be Stone, but hopefully Brown is able to play as well. If not, hopefully, both will be fully healthy by Week 9.

Stay tuned as this story develops.
