Doubleheader tonight with two interconference matchups.
We close out Week 7 of NFL football with a double-header of interconference matchups as the Bucs (+ 156) host the Ravens (- 186) in Tampa Bay, and the Cardinals (- 102) host the Chargers (- 116) in Arizona. The AFC teams are favoured in both matchups, the Ravens by 3.5-points and the Chargers by just 1.5-points.
The Bucs demolished the Saints last week, putting up 51 total points and having near 600 total net yards of offense. Mayfield looks the part, and I just find it so easy to root for this team. They have a good defense in place, and the offense functions so well, with Godwin and Evans an elite wide receiver duo, and a seemingly endless supply of productive running backs.
The Ravens did just enough to get themselves a marquee win against the Washington Commanders, on another game that running back Derrick Henry absolutely dominated (glad we don’t have to face him twice a year any longer), and Lamar Jackson outdueles rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
The Cardinals are slowly coming back to earth after a hot start, this time losing to the Packers after falling to an early 0-24 hole. It looked like they were making a comeback in the second half but a dagger 20-yard touchdown pass ended their hopes. Now at 2-4, it is back to watching the young guys develop.
The Chargers beat the Broncos after nearly blowing a 23-0 lead, and even though they do have a winning record I expected more from this team after the arrival of Harbaugh as the head-coach. They have a relatively soft schedule remaining to help them get some consistency, and I think that playoffs are well in reach for them.
While I hope that the Cardinals can pull off the upset and cause some problems for the Chargers, I think that both AFC teams will manage to win tonight. And if I had to choose only one game to watch it would definitely be Ravens @Bucs.
