Detroit Lions Jake Bates hit a viral TikTok dance after his game-winning kick against the Minnesota Vikings.
On Sunday afternoon, the Detroit Lions pulled off one of the most impressive victories of Dan Campbell’s tenure as head coach, handing the Minnesota Vikings their first loss of the 2024 season in thrilling fashion, 31-29.
Jake Bates, the Lions rookie kicker who first made waves in the UFL with the Michigan Panthers earlier this year, was put in the biggest spot of his professional football career. Detroit’s offense had made its into field goal range during a two-minute drill, opting to run down the clock and set up a game-winning field goal attempt. Bates would drill the 44-yard field goal with just 15 seconds left on the clock, and after the clock had finally hit zeroes, the rookie kicker had helped put the Lions into first place of not only the NFC North, but the entire conference.
After Bates had knocked through the field goal, he would hit a celebration dance that should look extremely familiar to you if you’re chronically online and have ever scrolled through a “For You” page.

Bates channeled his inner Justice family energy and brought the BOOM to U.S. Bank Stadium after hitting the kick. Here’s Big Justice and the rest of the family for reference if you’ve been living under a rock and happily enjoying your existence on Earth without knowing this is the kind of #content people are generating these days.

Now, only one question remains: is Bates a chicken bake guy, or would he choose the double-chunk chocolate cookie?!?
