Sean McVay reacted to the Los Angeles Rams win over the Las Vegas Raiders
Sean McVay gave a press conference after the Los Angeles Rams Week 7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, and McVay quickly credited the defense for the win, and lamented opportunities that his offense missed out on. The head coach was even asked about Tutu Atwell specifically and how he has been coming into his own in his fourth year in the league.
McVay did have some praise for Atwell, but overall, the head coach did seem to express some discomfort with the offense’s performance overall, but he also expressed, “…looking forward to see all of us continue to do a better job…”
“I don’t know yet, but I do know that he’s done a good job. We had a chance to be able to end the game you know on the little screen that we threw to him. You know we got be able to finish some of those blocks, and shouldn’t of had to put our defense back out on the field Tutu’s done some really nice things but I’m looking forward to see all of us continue to do a better job you know particularly on the offensive side.”
Chris Shula’s unit deserves the bulk of praise for Sunday’s win, but the offense did enough and the special teams didn’t completely blow the operation. McVay seems to feel his offense can do better, and with Cooper Kupp expected to play this Thursday against the Minnesota Vikings, then perhaps the offense will play better with Kupp’s return.
LA’s offense will have to show improvement before it can be considered improved, but the addition of Kupp should be a positive for Matthew Stafford and the entire unit.
If the Rams can find a way to beat the Vikings on Thursday they would then move to 3-4 on the season after winning two NFL games in about a four-day span before taking on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8.
It should be fascinating to watch how the narrative for the Rams evolves over the next week and beyond.
