The Bengals return home for a chance to get back to .500.

The Cincinnati Bengals will return home after beating the Browns in Cleveland for the first time since 2017. Joe Burrow is getting over his Cleveland curse, and the Bengals are starting to right the ship. The Bengals covered in their win, closing as 5.5-point favorites.

According to FanDuel, they’re a 2.5-point favorite in Week 8 as they welcome the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that has also arguably not lived up to expectations this season but are still 4-2, and the Bengals have yet to beat a team with a winning record.

The Bengals have not fared well at home, with both of their wins this season coming on the road. They opened the season with a 16-10 loss to the New England Patriots at home, which only compounded with a Week 3 home loss and Week 5 home loss.

Cincinnati’s defense has gotten back on track in the last few weeks, and that’s a welcome sight. It held the Giants to 7 and the Browns to 14, but this Eagles team will be a far greater test than either of those teams.

Philadelphia is coming off a 28-3 win over the Giants, a team the Bengals beat by just 10 in Week 6. The Eagles beat the Browns by four in Week 6, so the last two opponents have been the same for these teams.

Philadelphia is 2-1 on the road, having taken down the Saints and Giants and losing to the Buccaneers. This will be just its second time as an underdog this season. The Eagles are 3-3 against the spread (ATS).

That said, do you think the 2.5-point opening spread is fair?
