The Bengals need to put together some wins to keep their season alive, and they took care of business as needed for the second week in a row.
The Cincinnati Bengals season has gotten off to a rough start overall, but with the win against the Browns, the team is almost back up to .500.
With a win against the Eagles next week, the Bengals will be right back in the running for a playoff berth. This two-game win streak hasn’t been exactly as the Bengals envisioned it, though; while the defense has played well against two bad offenses, the offense has struggled to find points.
The Bengals’ only touchdown of the first half was on a fantastic return by Charlie Jones.
In the second half, the Bengals offense started to figure things out and was able to build their lead to be insurmountable for the Browns offense. If they are going to make the playoffs though the offense of Weeks 1-5 will have to show up along with the defense playing as well as it has recently. The Bengals have seen both halves from their team play well, now they just need to do it together.
Let’s see what Twitter had to say about the Bengals’ victory over the Browns.
FINALLY A WIN IN CLEVELAND

Joe Burrow heads out for the victory-V and the Bengals win 21-14, earning their first win in Cleveland since 2017.
Took a big effort from their defense for the second straight week, but they make it happen to improve to 3-4.

Bengals move to 3-4. Wasn’t pretty this week or last week but nothing is easy in the NFL. A big matchup against Philly that I will be in attendance for.

The Bengals finally end the streak. 1st win in Cleveland since 2017

Great pic. A win is a win. But man this team under Zac Taylor is stressful. https://t.co/hLAMpEykTf

Jameis Winston was the emergency 3rd QB today.
He has as many TD passes as Deshaun Watson over the last 3 Browns games.

Orlando Brown walking into the locker room seems like a positive sign. Will get an update from Zac Taylor soon pic.twitter.com/5hzSZcaiik

Zac Taylor said the injury for Geno Stone isn’t as bad as he initially thought.
— Charlie Goldsmith (@CharlieG__) October 20, 2024
Zac Taylor: We’ll see with Orlando Brown. More on positive side that he was able to be out on sideline in second half.
Said he thought Cody Ford did a good job.
Said Geno Stone might not be as bad as feared but wait and see there.

Cody Ford had a pass blocking grade of 3.9 this afternoon vs the Browns on initial grading by PFF.
On 30 pass blocking snaps this season, Ford has a pass blocking grade of 6.1.
This is not going to work for any sustained period of time.

Neither was pretty, but the Bengals get back-to-back road wins to move to 3-4.
Now they go to Cincinnati for two games and a chance to get back above .500.
They’ll need to be better than the last two weeks to make that happen.
— Matt Edwards (@MattEdwards) October 20, 2024
Over the last 3 games of regulation (excluding Henrys 51 yard run in OT) the #Bengals have held starting backs to 113 yards on 42 attempts
2.69 per carry…
Henry
Tracy
ChubbIncluding the OT run,
3.81 per carry..

Burrow: We have a chance to be a great team. We’re not that yet. Lot of football left.
