Giants’ running backs measuring up after Saquon Barkley exit | New York Post
“It don’t matter where you’re drafted,’’ said rookie running back Tyrone Tracy. “If you’re on the football field, you’re expected to produce at a high level. First round, second round, seventh round, undrafted, there’s a lot of people who were undrafted playing in the NFL who are starting. It doesn’t matter where you’re drafted, it’s more so about what you do with your opportunities when they come.’’
Nabers: My play talks for me
Malik Nabers on trash talking: “I don’t really talk when it’s in the game. I just make plays.”

After concussion, Giants’ Malik Nabers will finally wear safer helmet trainers suggested before season – nj.com
“I switched my helmet, so I’m not really sure I need to wear a Guardian Cap, because I’ve got a new helmet,” he said. “But if I switch [back] to my other helmet, then it would probably be safer for me to.”
The Giants’ trainers and medical staff told Nabers “this [new] helmet would protect my head better. They [suggested] it before the season, but I liked the helmet that I was wearing before. It’s just being precautious [now] for when I’m out there.”
Losing Andrew Thomas derailed Giants offense in 2023. Can they avoid same fate this year? | The Athletic
The other option would be shifting right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor to the left side. That wouldn’t be foreign for Eluemunor, who switched sides three times over the previous two seasons with the Raiders when left tackle Kolton Miller was sidelined.
Eluemunor said switching to left tackle in-season is a major challenge physically and mentally. He made it clear his preference is to remain at right tackle, which would maintain continuity at the other four spots on the line.
Jon Runyan Jr.: How NY Giants player grew up a diehard Eagles fan | The Record
Runyan Jr. actually keeps a reminder on his cell phone of the many epic on-field battles Jon Runyan and Michael Strahan had through the years. The photo is from outside the Eagles’ player entrance at Lincoln Financial Field and it’s of a teenage Runyan Jr. – in his father’s No. 69 – being hugged from behind by Strahan, looking dapper in a grey suit.
“Maybe the Giants seed was planted all the way back then,” Runyan Jr. quipped with a smile, repeating the playful sentiment from a reporter at his locker as he flipped through to that photo after practice Thursday. “Growing up, I always thought Michael and my dad were friends. After the game they played, every year, Michael would come out to the buses, and he and my dad would chat it up.”

NFL Week 7 picks, schedule, odds, injuries, fantasy tips | ESPN.com
Bold prediction: Giants QB Daniel Jones will set a season high for passing yards. Jones’ highest yardage game (281) was against the Cowboys in Week 4.The Eagles rank just 26th in EPA per dropback, and I can see New York falling behind and playing catchup through the air.
New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles: 5 things to know about Week 7 | USAToday.com

5 things to watch as Giants face Eagles in Week 7 of 2024 NFL season | SNY.tv
Giants cornerback Deonte Banks has faced a series of talented wide receivers already this season, and that continues on Sunday as he’ll most likely be tasked with covering A.J. Brown. Brown made his second appearance of the season in the Eagles’ win over Cleveland in Week 6 and it was clear that they had missed him as he made some big plays down the stretch. He has over 100 receiving yards in each of his appearances this year. Although Brown has yet to post a 100-yard game against the Giants in four meetings with them since joining the Eagles, he’s been productive — with 70 yards or more in three of those games.
Dabs’ Digest: Week 7 conversation with Coach Brian Daboll | Giants.com
Do the Eagles’ schemes look significantly different than they did last year since they have two new coordinators in Kellen Moore on offense and Vic Fangio on defense?
Daboll: “Well, they’re different. I think anytime you get new coordinators, the schemes are going to change. Vic has been doing this a long time. Known Vic for a while. He’s a heck of a football coach. But his system is his system. Just like Kellen’s system is Kellen’s system. I think you try to adapt to the players that you have. But there are a lot of similarities when you go back and look at Vic’s stuff and what he did at prior places.”
Giants letting Saquon Barkley walk made sense — but it could still leave Joe Schoen with egg on his face | nj.com
Saquon Barkley returns to MetLife Stadium on Sunday with the Eagles, surely with revenge on his mind.
But from a practical standpoint, the Giants letting him walk in free agency this past offseason made sense. They had a ton of other roster holes. Spending big money on a 27-year-old running back with a history of durability issues was never going to be a pragmatic move.
2025 NFL Draft: Tyler Warren Makes Case for TE1, Best Fits for League’s Worst Teams | Bleacher Report
Top Option: QB Jalen Milroe, Alabama. “Head coach Brian Daboll is one of the NFL’s better play-callers and designers. We’ve seen him get the most out of Jones’ and Josh Allen’s dual-threat capabilities. A pairing between Daboll and Alabama’s explosive athletic passer makes complete sense. Milroe is a superior athlete as a runner compared to both Jones and Allen. The Bama signal-caller has a lively arm to make every throw. Plus, Milroe loves to throw the ball down the field, which would unlock Malik Nabers and Jalin Hyatt’s big-play potential.” — B/R scout Dame Parson

Eagles rule out TE Dallas Goedert, list CB Darius Slay as questionable | Pro Football Talk
The Eagles ruled out tight end Dallas Goedert (hamstring) as expected Friday. Left tackle Jordan Mailata (hamstring) also will not play Sunday as he was placed on injured reserve.
Cornerback Darius Slay (knee) returned to a full practice Friday after being limited Wednesday and sitting out Thursday. He is questionable but is trending the right direction to play. Defensive tackle Jalen Carter, who was added to the practice report Thursday with a shoulder issue, does not have a designation for Sunday.
32 Thoughts Ahead of NFL Week 7 | Bleacher Report
The problem with the Eagles is there isn’t a single diagnosis for what’s going on. Everything has fallen apart. Only three teams (the Rams, Titans and Panthers) have fewer defensive takeaways since the start of 2023, and the Eagles have just two of ’em thus far in 2024.
Eagles rookie storylines for the Giants game feature Quinyon Mitchell vs. Malik Nabers | Bleeding Green Nation
It’s very likely we get a direct match up between two first round rookies in this game. Malik Nabers is trending towards playing the Eagles. That is good news for the Giants considering how immediately kick-ass Nabers has been for New York. Quinyon Mitchell has gone toe to toe with some truly excellent receivers, but Nabers might be the best one yet. If Mitchell can lock him down, the Eagles win. Simple as that.
Spadaro: Time for the stars in A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith to shine | PhiladelphiaEagles.com
“It’s a great challenge and that’s kind of the case every week,” Brown said. “This is the NFL. Every team has great players and you have to be at your best every time you step on the field. For us, we know the coaches are going to put us in good position and we know Jalen (Hurts, quarterback) is going to put the ball in the best position for us to make some catches.
