The stretch of primetime games continue for the Saints as they host the Denver Broncos
And we are off for Week 7 as the New Orleans Saints (- 118) host the Denver Broncos (- 100) in what looks to be, at least on paper, as one of the closest games of the week, with the Saints currently favoured by just 1.5-points.
The Saints were blown out by the Bucs last week, allowing 28 unanswered points in the second half as the defense collapsed entirely. Spencer Rattler was okay in his NFL debut, but he is clearly nowhere close to Derek Carr as of right now, though it does not matter at all who your quarterback is when your defense is allowing 44 points in a single game (7 of the 51 came on a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown).
The Broncos came close to coming back from a 23-0 deficit at the half, but in the end it was not enough as they dropped to 3-3. This team has surprised me a lot as I definitely did not expect them to be as competitive as they have been, emerging as one of the biggest threats to that #7 playoff spot in the AFC, which is why I’ll be rooting against them.
I hope that the oddsmakers have it right and the Saints manage to win this one, but there is no way of telling how rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler will play. Bo Nix at least has some more experience under his belt, but this matchup could easily go either way.
