Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 10/18/24
Reportedly a Los Angeles Rams player (Conor McDermott) had his team issued iPad stolen, and the device had LA’s playbook on it or at least had plays which now in theory can be viewed and potentially shared by whoever has the iPad. If you work in the medical field or social work then you probably know all too well about keeping safe confidential information. Sometimes though no matter how hard we try bad fortune or human error will find us.
You can read more about it below. It doesn’t seem that Conor did anything wrong, it’s just an unfortunate situation and luckily no one was hurt. However, does the loss of the iPad hurt LA’s chances at a victory this coming Sunday?

NFL Lineman Conor McDermott Rams Playbook Jacked From Car… Cops Investigating (tmz)
“TMZ Sports has learned … the 31-year-old former UCLA Bruin’s vehicle was in a residential area when his digital playbook was jacked.
Of course, it’s a bummer for McDermott — not only because of the monetary value, but because of the contents on the tablet.
Teams give out the electronics to players to study up for gamedays … and plays and game/practice footage are usually uploaded to them.
But whoever took the tablet won’t get all the Rams’ secrets … ‘cause given Apple’s technology, anyone can wipe their devices remotely if a situation like this ever happens.”

Las Vegas Raiders vs Los Angeles Rams Prediction, Odds and Picks for Sunday, 10/20/24 (pickwise.com)
“The Los Angeles Rams are coming off their bye week to host the Las Vegas Raiders here in Week 7. I normally wouldn’t feel great about laying this many points with a Rams team that has plenty of deficiencies, but the Raiders are an absolute mess right now. Just a handful of weeks into the season, Las Vegas has already changed quarterbacks and traded their number one receiver. If that’s not a sign that things aren’t going well, I don’t know what is. Most recently, the Raiders got blown out at home by a Steelers team that doesn’t usually blow out anybody.
When you manage to lose 32-13 to Justin Fields in a game where Fields threw for only 145 yards, it’s time to take a long look in the mirror. And the week before getting embarrassed by Pittsburgh, they lost by 16 to Bo Nix and the Broncos. Las Vegas picked up one fluke win over the Ravens which managed to convince some people they had some fight, but they’ve been dreadful in nearly every other game. The only other team they’ve beaten this season was the 1-5 Browns, and in that one they won by just four points in an ugly game where they put up less than 275 yards of total offense.”

Random Ramsdom Fandom: Omar Speights is coming. (By CDNGolfer on Oct 16, 2024)
“He points out that pre season games are much more regulated and teams aren’t going to show much of their good stuff, multiple personnel groupings etc. Probably more like the joint practices, a place to show off some skills and drive for players. McVay also said that he loves Omar’s skills and when asked if what we saw from Speights is real or imagined he said “No, no. That’s real”
For a couple of months now Speights has been getting coached up to NFL speed as far as his position goes, and, if you read between the lines, it sounds like we may see Speights this week. How much? What situation? Who knows, but it means the boss hasn’t been blind to the situation as some have been suggesting.
I think we also got a signal as to who he might take snaps from. At the beginning of the linebacker conversation McVay said “I’ve been really pleased with Troy Reeder” and “Rozeboom does some really good things”. Significantly different. I imagine Stetson Bennett has done some really good things.”
