Nabers appears on track to play against the Eagles
The New York Giants finally got some good news on the injury front, with rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers returning to practice on Thursday.
Nabers was spotted running routes without the red non-contact jersey, suggesting that he’s taken another step in the concussion protocol. He will meet with an independent neurologist after practice to see if he will clear the concussion protocol.
It seems, as of this writing, that there’s a good chance that Nabers will be activated for the Giants’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The presence of Nabers would be a welcome sight indeed after the loss of LT Andrew Thomas for the season. Head coach Brian Dabol also said before practice RT Jermaine Eluemunor is taking snaps at left tackle, while Evan Neal continues to practice at right tackle. It seems that while Josh Ezeudu is the next man up at left tackle, the Giants are preparing in case his performance — or another injury — forces their hand.
Daboll also said that defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II (hip) and edge defender Brian Burns (groin) will miss their second straight practice. Both players have said that they’ll play against the Eagles.
