A top talent has left Las Vegas’ roster
The Las Vegas Raiders removed one of their best players from the roster Tuesday when they traded star wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets on Tuesday.
It will, of course, have a big affect on the roster. I would have ranked Adams as the No. 2 Raider on the roster before the trade. I also would have had defensive tackle Christian Wilkins as the No. 3 overall player on the roster if he wasn’t on the injured reserve with a foot injury.
So, now let’s look at the Raiders’ top five players on the current 53-man roster.
1. Maxx Crosby:
A no-brainer. He has been the Raiders’ best player for a while. He is the heart-and-soul of the team and is a reason why the defense always has a chance. He is an elite NFL player.
2. Brock Bowers:
We all figured the No. 13 overall pick would be a good player. But six games into his NFL career and the tight end is already a great player. He is, by far, Las Vegas’ best offensive player now that Adams is gone and his opportunities should only increase in a season he is on pace to set a rookie record.
3. Kolton Miller:
Miller isn’t a great left tackle, but he’s above average and he is very much still a foundation piece for the offense.
4. Nate Hobbs:
He is an outstanding nickel cornerback who also plays on the outside. The Raiders should give this 2025 free agent a contract extension ASAP.
5. Jakobi Meyers:
Meyers is now the Raiders’ No. 1 wide receiver with Adams gone. He’s going to be challenged in that role since he’s probably better suited as a No. 2. But he can play. He is a tough, smart player. I gave him the edge to run out this list over linebacker Robert Spillane and Dylan Parham.
