In the first game of the season where the Bengals defense really showed up, the offense looked lost most of the game.
The Cincinnati Bengals needed a victory over the New York Giants to really keep their season alive, and now, moving to 2-4, it definitely still is.
Obviously, they still have an uphill battle to make the playoffs, but all they can do is play one week at a time and hope they get on one of their runs that have been so common in the Burrow era.
Against the Giants, who were admittedly without their best offensive player, the Bengals defense played extremely well, holding them to only seven points. If you told any Bengals fan that the Giants only scored seven points then they would’ve said that the Bengals must’ve crushed them, which unfortunately wasn’t the case.
In a week when the defense held strong, the offense constantly floundered and looked lost, scoring its two touchdowns on fluky long-run plays. The pocket looked more like 2022, with Joe Burrow constantly having to dance to try to avoid pressure and not having nearly enough time to find open players.
The Giants do have one of the best defensive lines the Bengals will face this year, but the offense still needs to come better prepared for when Burrow is pressured.
With all that said, let’s take a look at what Twitter thinks of the Bengals’ key victory over the Giants.

I know that was an ugly win, but I’m pumped about what I saw from the Bengals’ defense tonight.
Yes, the Giants stink, but holding an NFL team to 7 on their own field isn’t nothing.
Keep building on that and this team can do some stuff.

Not the night Giants fans wanted, but Brian Burns was outstanding once again.

The Bengals are 2-4 and have to improve their play…but, on the plus side, they have a very manageable rest-of-season schedule: at CLE, PHI, LV, at BAL, at LAC, PIT, at DAL, at TEN, CLE, DEN, at PIT

Pretty happy for the Bengals defense tonight.
I know it’s the Giants and Daniel jones, but they needed some small victories. They’ve been terrorized 2 straight weeks.

FINAL: #Bengals 17, Giants 7
There will be a new pile of issues to sort through for Cincinnati — specifically a sloppy night on offense.
But the embattled defense made enough plays and a team that had to have a win survived.
Now 2-4. At CLE next week.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy with the win, but I would have loved to have seen a significantly better performance

What a difference a defensive rotation makes.
Also, don’t slam the OL tonight;
This Giants team got Watson and Geno 7+ times.
4 seans reasonable
