Las Vegas’ loss to Denver looks even worse a week later
Week 6 wasn’t kind to the Las Vegas Raiders. Not only did they suffer a blowout loss for the second week in a row, but the Raiders’ loss to the Denver Broncos two Sundays ago looks worse with the Los Angeles Chargers having a fairly convincing win over the Broncos yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs were on a bye, so we only have one game to go over for this week’s AFC West roundup.
Chargers 23 Broncos 16
LAC Stats:
- QB Justin Herbert: 21/34, 237 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
- RB J.K. Dobbins: 25 carries, 96 yards, 1 TD
- WR Ladd McConkey: 4 catches, 43 yards
- S Alohi Gilman: 10 total tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 1 PD
- CB Elijah Molden, 4 total tackles, 1 INT
DEN Stats:
- QB Bo Nix: 19/33, 216 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 6 rushes, 61 rushing yards
- WR Courtland Sutton: 4 catches, 53 yards, 1 TD
- WR Troy Franklin: 2 catches, 31 yards, 1 TD
- DL Zach Allen: 8 total tackles, 4 TFL, 0.5 sacks
- S Brandon Jones: 12 total tackles, 1 PD
The scoreboard doesn’t tell the full story here as this game was never in much of a doubt for Los Angeles. The Chargers looked pretty dominant for most of the afternoon, taking a 23-0 lead into the fourth quarter. Nix started throwing the ball around in the final frame to improve his stat line, but it was too little too late.
This keeps Los Angeles (3-2) in second place in the division standings and two games behind Kansas City (5-0). Meanwhile, losses keep Denver (3-3) in third while Las Vegas rounds out the AFC West.

- Raiders rumored to have made offer to get Jayden Daniels: “Word on the street, and none of us will ever know, but word on the street was that last year the Raiders were one of a couple of teams that offered as many as three first-rounders to move up for Jayden Daniels, and they were told ‘No,’” Jason Fitz said last week on Raider Nation Radio’s The Morning Tailgate.
- Maxx Crosby talks about shoving coach: “I have my phone blowing up as I’m in the cold tub, trying to get ready for next week already, and people, you know how they do it — they just spin narratives,” Crosby said with a laugh, via ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez. “Mike Caldwell’s a great dude. We have a great relationship and we do that all the time. It’s like people look at it, ‘Oh, they’re losing and then Maxx pushes him.’”
