Can the Bengals get their season back on track against the Giants on Sunday Night Football
Wrapping up the Sunday slate of NFL games in Week 6 will be the Cincinnati Bengals traveling to the Meadowlands to take on the New York Giants. Both teams will be in desperation mode, looking to get a win under their belts.
Much like the Los Angeles Rams, when the 2024 NFL season started, the Bengals did not envision themselves at 1-4 through five weeks. However, the Bengals have not been consistent enough to win close games and that’s exactly where they stand. Quarterback Joe Burrow has thrown 12 touchdowns to two interceptions, but it has been the defense and conservative coaching that has the Bengals where they are this season.
Last week, the New York Giants got a surprising win on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. They will be looking to carry that momentum in Week 6. While the Bengals are more talented, they have had their share of letdowns this season. The Giants will likely try to keep the game close and then try to steal the win in the fourth quarter.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Bengals are 3.5-point favorites on the road. Outside of their loss to the Vikings, the Giants have been able to keep games close. They fell to the Commanders by just three and lost to the Cowboys by five. It’s hard to trust the Bengals, but this is a game that they should be able to win by a touchdown. I’ll take the Bengals to win tonight and cover.
The Pick: Bengals (-3.5)
Season Record: 8-10
