Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 10/12/24
The Los Angeles Rams (1-4) are on a bye week, but surely many of the people within the organization watched the Thursday night game between the San Francisco 49ers (3-3) and the Seattle Seahawks (3-3). The game had big implications for the state of the NFC West at present and in the future. The 49ers won to move themselves atop the NFC West, and it can be argued that was the best-case outcome for LA because it kept Seattle from reaching 4-1, and potentially starting to run away with the division lead. With the loss against the 49ers, Seattle moved to second in the division while the Arizona Cardinals (2-3) are in third place as of this writing.
The Rams are currently in last, but a 1-4 record isn’t the end of the season.
No real question today, but the Rams are on bye and it’s interesting to watch the games with LA on the sideline. Please comment on whatever you’d like, have a nice Saturday and have a great weekend!
TNF may have set the table for the LA Rams to shock the NFL with late rally (ramblinfan)
“In terms of a wild card berth, the team has a vast number of competitors who are playing better football right now. The Rams are 0-3 against every NFC North Division team that they have faced, with the Minnesota VIkings (5-0) as the only team from that division remaining on the schedule. So in terms of any tie-breaker, this team has dug a deep hole already in just five games.
But in terms of the NFC West Division, the current crown is shared by the San Francisco 49ers (3-3) and the Seattle Seahawks (3-3). While mediocrity is not typically the trademark of the NFC West Division, the fact that the Rams are no worse off than two games back during their BYE week is about as favorable of an outcome as the team could possibly hope for. And if the Arizona Cardinals fall to the Green Bay Packers, the Rams will emerge from Week 6 in an even more fortuitous scenario.”

6 Rams who deserve more snaps after the bye, including Blake Corum (ramswire)
“The bye week is a perfect time for a team to make changes, whether big or small. The Los Angeles Rams began making some adjustments on defense last week with the benching of Tre’Davious White and Kamren Kinchens, but the changes should continue after the Week 6 bye.
On offense, Blake Corum and Davis Allen should get more opportunities. On defense, there are ways to bolster the front seven by giving other players some additional snaps.
Here are six players who deserve more playing time coming out of the bye when the Rams return in Week 7.”

PFF’s 11 highest-graded Rams players from first 5 games (theramswire)
“The Los Angeles Rams are five games into the 2024 season and although those five games didn’t go according to plan, they still have time to right the ship and make a push for the playoffs. With their health improving and the defense getting better after some key changes in Week 5, all is not lost in the Rams’ building.
There have been some encouraging performances by Rams players on both offense and defense, though many of the team’s top players have come on the offensive side of the ball. Pro Football Focus’ grades reflect that as we look at the 11 highest-graded players overall for Los Angeles through five games (min. 50 snaps).”
Flicks from the first five.
