The Bengals wide receiver spoke to the assembled football media on Thursday at Paycor Stadium
Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase spoke to media members Thursday afternoon at an arranged press conference. It’s the first in-season press conference that’s not after a game Chase has done in his career.
A key thing Chase addressed was that he lost his appeal case for being fined from verbal abuse of an official. The fine is from Chase’s outburst towards referee Alex Kemp in the Bengals Week 2 game at the Kansas City Chiefs.
Chase paid the full $31,599 fine.
Since that Week 2 game, Chase has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. In the Bengals’ last three games, Chase has five touchdowns, 19 receptions, and 396 yards.
In addition, Chase also detailed his diet during the season and the offseason in Thursday’s press conference.
He told reporters that he can eat horribly and still play well. Doesn’t that remind you of Chad Johnson eating McDonald’s?
Chase said his unhealthy meal in Cincinnati is Joella’s Chicken, citing his love for their chicken and waffles. He also likes the McDonald’s McGriddles. When home in Louisiana, Chase enjoys pasta gumbo, po’boy sandwiches, pork chops, and crawfish. That sounds delicious.
Through five games, Chase is averaging 17 yards per reception on 29 catches for 493 yards and five touchdowns. He is second in the NFL in receiving yards behind Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins. Chase will look to continue his strong start to the season when the Bengals take on the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football this week in New York. The game kicks off at 8:20 p.m. on NBC.
