Checking in with Detroit Lions fans for our latest SB Nation Reacts survey: What is the most likely outcome of the Lions at Cowboys?
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Detroit Lions fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Each week, in our SB Nation Reacts Survey, we will provide readers with a question or two specifically geared toward Detroit Lions fans, with an article exploring the results released later in the week.
This week, we have two questions: the first being a recurring weekly question, and the next being designed for Week 6:
1. Are you confident the Lions are headed in the right direction? (weekly poll)
2. What is the most likely outcome of the Lions at Cowboys?
The Lions’ win over the Seahawks in Week 4 brought Lions fans’ confidence levels to an all-time high, with 99% of fans confident the Lions were headed in the right direction. Detroit has been living over 90% for the majority of the previous two years, with the occasional dip following a loss.
Typically, following a bye week, fans’ confidence increases from previous weeks, but with there being almost no room to grow, I am curious if the success of the other NFC North teams negatively impacts fans’ confidence, or if the status quo is maintained in this week’s vote.
In our second survey question—What is the most likely outcome of the Lions at Cowboys?—we have given fans three options to choose from:
- Lions win and cover the spread
- Lions win but don’t cover
- Cowboys beat the Lions
According to the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook, the Lions are currently three-point favorites. So what we’re really asking is will coach Dan Campbell’s controlled fury lead the Lions to a victory, will they win by more than a field goal, or will they succumb to the pressure and lose in Dallas for the third year in a row?
“That (controlled fury) never really leaves, but, yeah, I’m excited,” Campbell said on Monday. “I’m excited for this one. And really, look, it’s the next one in front of us and it’s a conference opponent and they’ve had our number for a while. And I grew up down there, so I have a lot of people there. I think it’ll be a special game.”
Alright, it’s time to vote in the polls below and keep an eye out later in the week for the results.
