No separation for the Vikings, apparently
With the Minnesota Vikings taking the week off in Week 6, the folks who set the betting lines don’t think the purple are going to find any more breathing room within the division when they get back to work.
According to our friends at FanDuel, all three of the NFC North teams who will be taking the field this week are favored to win their matchups, which would further tighten the race in the only division in the NFL where all four teams are over the .500 mark.
This week, it will be the Chicago Bears’ turn to take a trip across the ocean, as they’ll be facing the Jacksonville Jaguars in London this week. FanDuel has installed the Bears as a 1.5-point favorite in that one.
The Green Bay Packers have a home game this week as they’ll host the Arizona Cardinals, and the opening lines have them as a 5.5-point favorite over Arizona. That game will take place in the early afternoon window on Sunday.
The Detroit Lions will be a part of the late afternoon slate on Sunday as they travel to take on the Dallas Cowboys. Detroit has opened as a 3-point favorite on the road.
Obviously, we will be hoping that all of those teams lose on Sunday, if for no other reason than to blunt some of their momentum. . .the Vikings will host the Lions when they come back from their bye. . .and to create some space between the Vikings and the rest of the group. As of now, however, the expectation is that all three teams will still be breathing down Minnesota’s neck when Week 6 comes to its conclusion.
