They aren’t wrong.
Sunday was a tough loss for the Cincinnati Bengals, as they fell to the Baltimore Ravens in overtime 41-38.
Capped off by a Derrick Henry run to set up a Justin Tucker field goal, it was the Bengals struggles to get a first down after the Ravens fumble that really led to the loss.
After the game, Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase gave their thoughts on that drive, and they likely agree with most of the fanbase’s thoughts.
“Personally, I thought we should have gone a little more aggressive on the first and second down to get Evan in better field goal range,” said Higgins.
Chase followed with a very similar sentiment;
“I feel like we should have tried at least one play to give it to one our playmakers – me or Tee or Drei (Andrei Iosivas) to try to get a first down. That was what we’d be doing the whole game.”
The Bengals offense had a spectacular afternoon, which included five touchdowns thrown by Joe Burrow. With a Ravens defense, whose weakness is in the secondary, you can understand the frustration not to try to continue the dominance they had put together all game.
Now sitting at 1-4, the Bengals are in a tough position. They have lost two games by three points or less and just barely missed out on beating a much improved Commanders team. This offensive unit is impressive, especially through the air.
We will have to see if this coaching staff adjusts going forward.
