Jabrill Peppers facing serious charges
Former New York Giants safety Jabrill Peppers, currently a member of the New England Patriots, is facing serious charges after an apparent Saturday morning altercation.
Peppers is facing charges of assault, strangulation, and drug possession — believed to be cocaine — after the incident.
The 29-year-old Peppers was inactive Sunday as the Patriots lost to the Miami Dolphins, 15-10.
“We are aware of an incident involving Jabrill Peppers over the weekend in which the police are currently investigating,” the Patriots said in a statement. “We will have no further comment at this time,” they added.
Peppers, at least for now, remains a member of the Patriots.
“He’s not in the building today, he’s got his appearance – but as we gather information he can definitely come into the building – we don’t know enough to say he shouldn’t be in the building,” Mayo said in a [Monday] presser.
Peppers has a Nov. 22 court date.
Peppers was acquired by the Giants from the Cleveland Browns in the Odell Beckham Jr. trade. He played three seasons for the Giants, from 2019-2021.
