The good guys still lead
Get those fours up, ladies and gentlemen, because we’re heading to the final fifteen minutes of play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the Minnesota Vikings continuing to lead the New York Jets by a score of 17-10.
The Vikings got the ball first to start the half, but the offense went three-and-out to get things started. A dumb special teams penalty on the punt gave the Jets the ball at their own 40-yard line to start their first possession of the third quarter. Fortunately, the Jets responded with a three-and-out of their own.
Minnesota pushed into Jets territory on their next drive, but another sack of Sam Darnold squelched the drive and Ryan Wright’s punt was downed at the 2-yard line, giving the Jets a very long field. The Vikings forced the Jets to punt on that possession, but they were called for roughing the kicker on the punt to allow the Jets to keep the football. The Jets took advantage of their opportunity, pushing deep into Minnesota territory.
Fortunately, the Vikings limited the damage, as the Jets had to settle for a 32-yard field goal from Greg Zuerlein to cut the Minnesota lead to 17-10 with less than a minute left in the quarter.
As we move to the fourth quarter, the Vikings are looking at a 2nd-and-10 from the New York 46-yard line.
We’re three quarters of the way through this international contest, folks, with the Vikings leading the Jets by a score of 17-10. Can they hold on and get to 5-0? Come join us for the final fifteen minutes and find out!
