Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 10/5/24

Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams took a tough loss this past Sunday, but it wasn’t all bad as Stafford notched another accomplishment to his Hall of Fame case. Stafford passed Eli Manning for most past yards and Manning congratulated LA’s quarterback with a pretty funny and respectable response. You can check it out below.

I have no real question today; hope you had a fun Friday and can enjoy your Saturday! Better get ready for a big Rams game on Sunday. Please comment on whatever you want and thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!

Rams News: Eli Manning Hilariously Congratulates Matthew Stafford on Passing Him in All-Time Yards (si.com)

“Hey Matthew, just want to congratulate you on breaking into the Top 10 in career passing yards,” Manning said. “You knocked me out of the Top 10, so I’m not really sure why I am congratulating you.”

“But you’re also seven touchdowns away from passing me in total touchdowns. Do not expect another video for that. Anyway, congrats, pal! Well deserved.”

NFL Picks, Week 5: Packers remain road favorites against Rams (acmepackingcompany)

“On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers face the Los Angeles Rams in a matchup between two head coaches who remain close friends. Matt LaFleur and Sean McVay were assistant coaches together in Washington under Mike and Kyle Shanahan, and the two are still close to this day.

LaFleur has gotten the better of his buddy over the years, however. In four meetings between the two teams since LaFleur took over as the Packers’ head coach — three in the regular season and one in the playoffs — the Packers are 4-0, winning every game by at least 12 points..

All of those games have taken place at Lambeau Field, however. This is the first time that LaFleur will coach against McVay on the road, and it is the first road game against the Rams since 2018, Mike McCarthy’s final season in Green Bay. In fact, this is the first time the Packers will play at SoFi Stadium at all, as their last road game against the Los Angeles Chargers also came in 2019, one year before the new building opened for the 2020 season.”

Latest roster moves bolster DL, but more Rams roster moves are pending (ramblinfan)

“Well, based on the latest moves from the front office, the more the merrier.

The Rams defensive line rotation has already included (plus grades per Pro Football Focus):

NT Kobie Turner – 218 snaps – PFF Grade 64,3

NT Bobby Brown – 136 snaps – PFF Grade 60.4

DT Braden Fiske – 177 snaps – PFF Grade 64.6

DT Neville Gallimore – 79 snaps – PFF Grade 54.4

DE Desjuan Johnson – 27 snaps – PFF Grade 74.2

DT Tyler Davis – 43 snaps – PFF Grade 55.1

And so, the teams is about to reinforce the ranks. Not just with one player, but with two veterans.”
