Interesting Tidbits from the Vikings Weekly Release:
- This will be Kevin O’Connell’s 40th game as Head Coach of the Vikings. He’s 24 – 15 (.615), the highest winning percentage in franchise history.
- The Vikings have trailed only 3:26 through four games. The 2nd best team in the NFL is the LA Chargers at 41:55. That’s over 38 minutes difference!
- The Vikings 28 points in the first half last week were the most in the 1st half since Week 10 of the 2017 season when Washington score 28.
- The Vikings are 3rd in the league in first half points with 69 (nice). New Orleans (82) and Buffalo (71) are the only teams with more.
- The Vikings and 49ers are the only teams with multiple 90+ yard scoring drives this season.
- 7 different Viking defenders have recorded an interception.
- KOC continues to be perfect when winning or tying the turnover battle (21-0).
- The Vikings are a perfect 3 – 0 in London games.
How I see it playing out:
Aaron Rodgers and the Jets struggled last week offensively against the Broncos. Garrett Wilson has struggled to get on the same page as Rodgers. He has under 200 yards and 1 TD in 4 games. The Jets have had success on the defensive side of the ball. The Jets are 5th in scoring defense, a spot behind the Vikings. However, they have not faced potent offenses. The allowed 32 to the 49ers Week 1, but then 17, 3 and 9 the three weeks following. Those games were Titans, Patriots and Broncos. The Jets defense looks a lot better on paper than it is in reality. The Vikings offense is humming. The Vikings defense is playing even better. The team built up a massive lead last week and barely coasted to the finish line. I don’t expect Flores to ease up this week.
