The injured player your team most needs back and why? On the defensive side of the ball, the Giants could use CB Dru Phillips, who was off to a strong start to his rookie season before suffering a calf injury. The Giants’ CB room has been in a constant state of flux, and he’d been looking sharp.

Giants’ Darius Slayton not bothered by trade buzz | NJ.com
Hearing his name in trade rumors has become somewhat of an annual tradition for Giants wideout Darius Slayton. The 27-year-old even went so far as to reveal that several teams have “wanted to trade” for him in an interview in July.
But with his contract expiring at the end of the season and contenders like the Chiefs, Chargers and others growing desperate for another offensive weapon, the Slayton trade buzz — by fans and pundits alike — has only grown louder.

Hyatt hoped to have a bigger role this season, but Daboll has said he is the “third/fourth” receiver, with Slayton getting reps ahead of him. Hyatt has not complained while waiting for his chance to play.
“I think Jalin has handled it well,” Jones said. “He’s a pro, he’s a mature guy. You’ve seen it out at practice. He’s continued to show up and make a lot of plays. I know it’s frustrating for a guy not to get those opportunities on Sunday, but I thought he’s handled it well. I have a ton of confidence in him out there making plays, changing the game with his speed and ability to get behind the defense. So, I know he’ll be ready to go.”
If Giants’ Malik Nabers can’t play at Seahawks, their remodeled line must improve this big weakness | NJ.com
The Giants are preparing to play Sunday’s game in Seattle without prized rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, who is recovering from a concussion.
And while part of that will involve getting more production from non-factor (so far) receivers Darius Slayton and Jalin Hyatt, the Giants — without Nabers — also would need their overhauled offensive line to improve a notable weakness, if they want to avoid a disastrous 1-4 start.
Another busy weekend could be ahead for Wan’Dale Robinson

Giants’ Dexter Lawrence fumes over notion Cowboys rookie got better of him: ‘Learn football’ | New York Post
“You’re not going to sit here and hype up somebody that called for help all f—ing game,’’ said Lawrence. “You’re not going sit here and write a bad assessment, you need to learn football, whoever writes this, learn football and that’s that. That’s all I was saying. Don’t hype it up. I know that whoever [put that] out there did not watch the game properly. That is what I know. And tweet that and write that and say I said it just like that. You’re not about to tell me, this dude, watching tape, this dude blocked me. That’s it.’’

New York Giants: Malik Nabers, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns are the future of this franchise; everyone else should be on the hot seat for the rest of the season.

2025 NFL mock draft: Could Travis Hunter go No. 1? Who’s the top QB? | The Athletic
3. New York Giants: Will Campbell, OT, LSU. The above QB discussion applies here, too — if New York is picking No. 3, it’s probably done with Daniel Jones. Same time, if you reach for a rookie quarterback and then can’t protect him, you’ll be right back here again in no time. Keep building up front.

Geno Smith’s Seahawks reclamation a blueprint for Daniel Jones’ potential post-Giants career | New York Post
Will a fan base in a different city ever be thankful that Daniel Jones is their quarterback, the way the good people in Seattle and the north-country folk in Minneapolis are currently appreciative of their guys behind center?
Sometimes getting out and moving on is best for all concerned. The Giants are not there yet with Jones, who has already been given more of a lifespan with the team that selected him high in an NFL draft than Geno Smith and Sam Darnold were granted with the Jets. Darnold this season has already taken the Giants to the woodshed and Smith gets his shot with the Seahawks, Sunday afternoon at Lumen Field.

Seattle Seahawks: Just when it looked like Geno Smith had reached his final form, he teamed up with offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb to create a more explosive offense that could really present issues in the NFC West and/or wild-card race.
Seahawks’ DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Jaxon Smith-Njigba: NFL’s best WR trio? | Field Gulls
DK Metcalf sits at third in both total yards and explosive plays. The Seahawks don’t have a lot of passing touchdowns, and that’s because Kenneth Walker + Zach Charbonnet have been so effective in the Red Zone. Lockett’s exceptionally poor passer rating when targeted is annoying, somewhat anchored by being targeted for a couple of interceptions. However, 14 first downs on 18 total receptions is one of the most insane things going right now, proof that while “clutch” may not be measured, one can certainly take a stab at it.
