NFC South showdown tonight with the Buccaneers visiting the Falcons
And we are off for Week 5, as the Atlanta Falcons (- 134) host the Tampa Bay Bucs (+ 114) in what looks like to be one of the closest games this week, with the spread just 1.5-points in favour of the home team. The O/U for the game is currently at 44 points.
The Falcons won thanks to a last second 58-yard field goal by kicker Younghoe Koo after what semed like an Alvin Kamara game-winning touchdown. Second game-winning drive on very little time for quarterback Kirk Cousins, who brings a clutch element that was lacking from this offense. Still, the offensive trio of first round picks Drake London, Bijan Robinson, and Kyle Pitts continue to put up pedestrian numbers. This year you could make the argument that the Falcons’ best runner is Tyler Allgeier and Pitts has just 8 receptions for 105 yards.
The Bucs continued their hot start to the season and had an impressive win against the Eagles. Led by a brilliant performance from quarterback Baker Mayfield, this has been one of the most entertaining teams to watch this season, and they look poised to make it once again to the playoffs. I have to admit I was out on Baker as a starting quarterback in the NFL, but he has definitely proved me wrong.
All in all, even though the Falcons are favourites for the game, I like the Bucs’ odds better. Baker vs. Primetime Kirk will be really fun, and this is definitely a game worth tuning in for in my opinion.
