“Bob’s your uncle”
We are going across the pond as they say. The Jets should present a very stiff challenge for the offense. It will be interesting to see if Sauce Gardner covers JJettas all over the field. Quinnen Williams will be another tough defensive tackle for the interior linemen to block. It will be a long day at the office for sure. The Jets are going to be hungry for a win after losing to the Broncos last week. That is too bad because I do not think the Vikings are going to let up. No chance. The Vikings are slight favorites in this game which is about time.
I am picking the Vikings. Who you got?

Vikings vs. Jets Week 5 Game Preview
Former NFL offensive lineman praises the work of Vikings OL group
A.Q. Shipley, a 12-year NFL veteran, has made his offensive linemen rankings a constant on The Pat McAfee Show. On Wednesday, he ranked the current offensive line groups, and the former NFL lineman gave the Vikings a glowing one.
“The Minnesota Vikings offensive line has been doing an unbelievable job. . . They’ve been blocking the (blank) out of people.”
Jonathan Greenard: Vikings treating narrow win over Packers ‘like a loss’
The Vikings held on to beat the Green Bay Packers 31-29 to improve to a 4-0 start to the season. That doesn’t mean the team is happy about the performance on the field. In fact, according to pass rusher Jonathan Greenard, many on the defense are counting the game as a loss after nearly blowing a 28-point lead.
“No doubt about it, we definitely … we’re treating this like a loss,” Greenard told KFAN’s Power Trip Morning Show on Tuesday. “We literally were not happy about how we won this past game. We left so many plays out there. We messed up so many times on our end. Just a lot of self-inflicted stuff.”
Jets O-Line Hoping to Allow Aaron Rodgers ‘Do What He Does Best’ vs. Vikings
The Jets struggled in their blitz pickup in Week 4 against the Broncos and should expect another heavy dose of pressure Sunday against the Vikings. Minnesota ranks No. 2 in the NFL in blitz rate at 41.3%.
“I think that it was something that was good for us,” C Joe Tippmann said, referring to the Broncos blitzes. “It was really eye opening to be able to see that. We weren’t perfect last week and there’s a lot of areas that we can kind of improve and better ourselves for this week. That’s one of the big messages, being able to kind of come together. We regrouped and now we’ll build a new plan for how we can attack and be able to pick up these pressures, be able to keep [ Aaron Rodgers ] up so that he can keep that confidence in the O-line that we got his back and he can sit back there and do what he does best, which is pick apart the defense from that spot.”
“I think that’s one of the good things I noticed about this team. … We’re just going back to the drawing board and looking at ourselves in the mirror and understand, ‘Hey look, what type of team do you want to be? Do you want to be a team that’s standing there at the final dance?’ We gotta make sure that these things don’t happen,” Greenard said. “A lot of people trying to ask, ‘How do we go about this being 4-0? Or how do you deal with adversity when you’re always up against opponents?’ I feel like we shouldn’t have to be playing from behind or being in a situation where we have to be down 14 or multiple scores just to show us that we’re a good team.
“That’s the beauty of it, knowing we have a pretty good team, because no one’s satisfied about how we won.”
Vikings QB Sam Darnold takes high road when discussing his former team
Bill Belichick weighs in on Vikings’ hypothetical Darnold/McCarthy decision
Even if Darnold plays well all season, the plan would likely still be to thank him for his efforts and wish him best of luck on his next team (where he’ll be making a lot more than $10 million).
The one thing that could change that plan might be a Super Bowl victory. Legendary former Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who won six of those, made that point on a recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show.
“I think it would definitely change things if that were to happen,” Belichick said. “That’s what happened with Brady, that’s what happened with Kurt Warner and Trent Green (on the 1999 Rams). When your quarterback takes you to the Super Bowl championship, what else do you want them to do? That’s a pretty big commitment to make.”
“I don’t know all the details, that’s certainly an internal decision, and they’ve done an excellent job of putting that team together,” Belichick added. “Having two quarterbacks is a lot better than having none, we all know that.”
“Sam is playing great,” Belichick said. “He’s really been pretty good everywhere except the Jets. Everybody that’s had him has liked him, and I’ve talked to coaches that have been complimentary not only of his skills but his work ethic, his attitude, great teammate. He’s doing what a lot of people thought he would do. It’s a great opportunity for him and he’s taken advantage of it, just like Baker Mayfield did, Geno Smith, guys like that.”
