Week five’s Thursday Night Football game features the NFC South—the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel this week to take on the Atlanta Falcons. Tampa Bay enters this week as the first-place team in their division. The Buccaneers won their first two games over the Washington Commanders (37-20) and the Detroit Lions (20-16) before dropping a game to the Denver Broncos (7-26). They followed up those three games by beating the Philadelphia Eagles last weekend (33-16).
The Falcons have been more back and forth, winning one week and losing the next week, which, if they stay with that trend, would spell another loss this week. Atlanta lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers (10-18) in week one and the Kansas City Chiefs (17-22) in week three and won their games over the Philadelphia Eagles (22-21) in week two and then the New Orleans Saints (26-14) this past week.

—My Pick: Intra-divisional games are always harder to pick, but the line is less than a field goal margin, and the Buccaneers have had the better offense and the better defense vs the Falcons over the first four weeks of the season. I see Baker Mayfield leading Tampa over Atlanta this evening in what will still be a close game overall but will cover the 1.5-point line.
