The POD staff make their predictions for the Week 5 slate of games in the NFL.
The bye week has arrived to the NFL schedule, and the Detroit Lions, along with the Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans, and Los Angeles Chargers, just so happen to be part of the four teams with a break this week. Here at Pride of Detroit, our staff has made their picks for not only Thursday night’s game, but the entire slate of Week 5 games.
For a fourth consecutive week, Thursday night’s game is a divisional matchup. This week, it’s between NFC South rivals: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons. The two will square off on Amazon Prime for “Thursday Night Football” at 8:15 p.m. ET.
On Sunday, with the bye week now a factor, the NFL has 12 games scheduled. The NFL London Games series also kicks off this week at 9:30 a.m. ET. with a matchup Lions fans will be intrigued to tune into: the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings face off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, available on NFL Network.
After some breakfast and football, the Detroit audience will have two games to choose from in the early 1 p.m. slot: Carolina Panthers vs. Chicago Bears on FOX, while CBS will be broadcasting a matchup that’s worth checking out between the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens. At 4:25, CBS will have their second game of the day, the Los Angeles Rams vs. Green Bay Packers. Sunday night’s offering is a matchup your dad or grandfather might find exciting simply because nostalgia is a helluva drug: the Dallas Cowboys travel north to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on “Sunday Night Football” for an 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff on NBC/Peacock.
ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” gets back to just one scheduled matchup, a game between the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
As we have done in past seasons, our staff will be making weekly predictions for every game on the NFL schedule. Each of the Pride of Detroit staff will pick the moneyline (winner of the game, no spread), but some of the members will also pick against the spread and even the over/under lines—there’s an easy toggle button in the widget below to cycle through the settings. You can also check out all of the odds for this week’s games courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.
Here is who our staff is picking on the moneyline, spread, and over/under for all 14 games on the NFL Week 5 schedule:
