Iosivas won his appeal

The NFL was set to fine Cincinnati Bengals receiver Andrei Iosivas for his touchdown celebration against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2. The celebration, which was Iosivas shooting a bow and arrow, was dubbed a “violent gesture.”

Iosivas explained his argument via SI’s Jay Morrison, saying, “I said, ‘Look, they do it for archery … they shoot it up in the air for celebrations. There’s a lot of evidence there that it’s not violent. I wasn’t shooting it at anybody. There was no malicious intent at all behind it.”

Given the former Day 3 pick is still making under a million dollars per year, he wasn’t very fond of the $5,305 fine that was coming his way. Thankfully, Iosivas won his appeal and won’t have to pay the NFL that amount, he revealed in an interview with SI.

Iosivas has been a huge weapon for the Bengals this season, especially with Tee Higgins having missed some time due to injury. He’s hauled in three touchdowns and secured 114 yards on 11 catches.

Drafted out of Princeton, Iosivas has a bright career ahead of him.
