Starting Jets offensive lineman added to injury report
Both the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets have released their Thursday injury reports as they travel to London for Sunday’s game. Here they are:
Minnesota Vikings
- TE Josh Oliver, wrist, limited
- WR/PR Brandon Powell, chest, limited
- QB Sam Darnold, knee, full participant
- CB Akayleb Evans, illness, full participant
- LB Ivan Pace Jr., ankle, full participant
At this point for the Vikings, it’s just Oliver and Powell that were limited but I would lean more toward them playing. Oliver apparently had the wrist issue for the Green Bay game and was able to play through it. Powell suffered the chest injury from a hard hit in the Packers game, causing him to exit briefly. The fact that he returned to the game suggests it’s not likely to be enough to keep him out of the Jets game.
New York Jets
- RT Morgan Moses, knee, limited
- LT Tyron Smith, vet rest day, did not practice
- LB C.J. Mosley, toe, limited
- QB Aaron Rodgers, knee, full participant
- Leki Fotu, hamstring, full participant
- RG Alijah Vera-Tucker, ankle, limited
The Jets have already ruled Morgan Moses out for Sunday’s game, while C.J. Mosley appears on track to play. The biggest question mark now for the Jets is right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker, who showed up today for the first time on the injury list with an ankle.
It’s unclear how severe Vera-Tucker’s ankle injury is, but his being limited suggests it’s manageable. However, if Vera-Tucker was not able to go on Sunday, that would be a big blow to the Jets offensive line- he’s their best lineman- and put them down two offensive line starters for the Vikings’ game along with Moses.
Stay tuned.
