Report card: Bills fall 35-10 at Ravens
The Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens clashed in a Week 4 contest to continue their respective 2024 NFL seasons.
The Bills (3-1) ended up falling to the Ravens (2-2) to the tune of a 35-10 final. During the game, there was plenty disappointing play across the board.
With that, here is Bills Wire’s position-by-position report card grades for Week 4:

Josh Allen was 16-for-29 passing for 180 yards. Allen had one insane throw for 52 yards to set up Buffalo’s only touchdown. However, Allen’s “hero ball” was on display too. Not in a good way.
Running backs: C-

James Cook didn’t had much room to work. Cook averaged 4.3 yards per carry but only had 39 total. Cook was not a factor in the passing attack. Ty Johnson scored Buffalo’s only touchdown in Baltimore.

Khalil Shakir caught that Allen bomb and was otherwise ineffective. Second-round rookie Keon Coleman had a 24-yard grab but that went along with a brutal drop.
Tight end: C-

Dalton Kincaid had a decent day after some quiet ones. Kincaid had five catches on seven targets for 47 yards including a 25-yard grab. Dawson Knox was pretty invisible.
Offensive line: C-

The Bills offense didn’t get much going mainly because of the offensive line. There was little push in the run game and Allen was hit eight times which including three sacks. Of the whole unit, right tackle Spencer Brown looked the worst and Pro Football Focus‘ metrics back that. He had Buffalo’s lowest grade in the trenches at 57.9 overall.
Defensive line: D

While it’s a team effort, stopping the run starts up front…especially against a big boy like Derrick Henry… and he 199 yards on the ground. That 87-yard touchdown on Baltimore’s first play set the tone for the entire day.
Linebackers: C-

While the likes of Baylon Spector and Dorian Williams have filled in well for Terrel Bernard and Matt Milano, respectively, they did not have it in Baltimore. Spector was worse than Williams but aside from Williams’ forced fumble, it was not a good game.
Secondary: C

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson didn’t do much in the air but didn’t have to. He was just 13 of 18 passing for 156 yards… but Jackson did have two touchdown passes to running backs Justice Hill and Derrick Henry. On the outside, Bills cornerbacks Rasul Douglas and Christian Benford did well but Cam Lewis in the slot did not. Like Milano and Bernard, Taron Johnson was missed.

Tyler Bass missed badly again from 48 yards… not that it mattered. Returner Brandon Codrington muffed a punt as well.
