There’s some progress being made on the injury front.
The Cincinnati Bengals will face the Baltimore Ravens at home this week, and if there’s one thing the Ravens love to do, it is run the ball.
With Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry in the backfield, there’s a good chance their entire game plan will center around running it down the Bengals’ throats. Succeeding in doing that will be easiest said than done, but with the Bengals’ defense line being crippled by injury, it might work out well for Baltimore.
With that in mind, Zac Taylor gave an update on the Bengals line and how many are progressing through their injuries.
Taylor noted that Trey Hendrickson’s situation is “hard to say” after suffering a neck stinger on Sunday.
BJ Hill and Sheldon Rankins are still out, though Hill is further along in his recovery. He also noted Myles Murphy and McKinnley Jackson could be activated soon after spending the first four weeks on IR.
We also have an update from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who says Hendrickson did not suffer nerve damage, so that’s encouraging.
Zac Taylor gives updates on the #Bengals DLine:

•B.J. Hill & Sheldon Rankins: “We’ll see how they feel as the week goes” adds Hill is further along.

The Bengals have had to go deep into their defensive line depth with players like Zach Carter and Jay Tufele.
Those two, along with Lawrence Guy Sr. and Kris Jenkins Jr., were the four that saw snaps at defensive tackle in the team’s Week 4 win over the Panthers. While they didn’t play overly poorly, those names on the field aren’t what fans expected heading into the season.
Let’s hope for the Bengals’ sake that at least Hendrickson is a full go for Sunday’s first divisional matchup of the season vs. the Ravens.
