Come join our live chat for the first half of “Monday Night Football” between the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks.
The Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks will close out Week 4 of the NFL season with one of the most anticipated games of the (extended) weekend. The Lions went into the season with Super Bowl aspirations, and that likely hasn’t changed, even with a slightly slow start. There’s nothing concerning about a 2-1 record through three games—after all, there are just three undefeated teams left—but Detroit hasn’t quite passed the eye test of a championship team. It’s early, though. Everyone is working out kinks.
The Seattle Seahawks, however, are one of those remaining undefeated teams, and their 3-0 start looks good. Mike Macdonald has turned around the Seahawks defense in an instant, although it’s fair to question how “real” their defensive performance is thus far considering the quarterbacks they have faced (Bo Nix, Jacoby Brissett, and Skylar Thompson/Tim Boyle).
For both teams, this Monday night matchup will present their biggest test to day, and unfortunately for both teams, injuries could play a huge part. The Seahawks are missing four key players on their defensive front, while the Lions are likely missing two of their own including All-Pro center Frank Ragnow and possibly safety Brian Branch.
Still, injuries are no excuse. The winner of this game will make a huge statement in the entire NFC. And if that’s the Detroit Lions, it will be a very nice way to head into their Week 5 bye week.
