Will Jared Goff lead the Lions to a win over the Seahawks in Monday Night Football doubleheader?
For the second week in a row, the NFL will have a Monday Night Football doubleheader. In game one, the Tennessee Titans will take on the Miami Dolphins. However, game two features a much anticipated matchupas the Detroit Lions host the Seattle Seahawks.
The first game of the evening could be a bit messy. Will Levis has shown some promise, but costly turnovers have hurt the Titans over the first three weeks. The Titans defense will be looking to carry the load on Monday Night and get them their first win of the season.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins will be without both Tua Tagovailoa and Skylar Thompson. While the Dolphins will still have Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but there are serious questions on whether or not Tyler Huntley will be able to get them the football. Miami could lean heavily on Devon Achane and the run game.
In the later contest, it’s one of the bigger games of the week with the Lions hosting the Seahawks. The Lions are 2-1, but haven’t had a convincing victory. Quarterback Jared Goff has looked more like the player the Rams traded away than the one that was borderline top-10 at the position last year.
The Seahawks haven’t played anyone noteworthy yet, but they are 3-0 and off to a very hot start. A win on the road against the Lions would be exactly what they need to be taken seriously. Mike Macdonald has the defense playing well and that could cause issues for the Lions.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Dolphins are 2.5-point favorites over the Titans and the Lions are 4.5 point favorites over the Seahawks. It seems crazy, but I’m leaning both away teams tonight. Tyler Huntley does have experience as a starting quarterback, but this will be his first start for the Dolphins. The Titans defense has been really good. As long as Levis protects the ball, Tennessee could sneak out with a win. Meanwhile, even if the Lions win, it may only be by a field goal. The 4.5 point spread favors the Seahawks in a 27-23 type game as well. The Seahawks won in overtime last year when these two teams played and I like them again tonight.
The Picks: Titans (+2.5) and Seahawks (+4.5)
Season Record: 7-5
