Will Cincinnati finally get a win?
The start to the season for the Cincinnati Bengals has been brutal, as they currently sit at 0-3. After another tough loss to the Washington Commanders on Monday night, their attention will now turn to the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte.
Dealing with injuries on the defensive line, the Bengals are hoping to bounce back and put on a more impressive defensive performance against a Panthers team that has seen its fair share of struggles offensively. Well, that was at least until former Bengal quarterback Andy Dalton took over the reins this past week.
For the Bengals on offense, with the return of Tee Higgins and alongside Ja’Marr Chase, they are back to having one of the top receiver rooms in the NFL. Add in the play they are getting from the running backs and tight ends, and the skill talent is there to make a serious push after this slow start.
The Panthers will enter the matchup at 1-2 after an impressive win in Las Vegas last Sunday. With Dalton under center, the Panthers offense found a pulse in both the passing and running games, but it might have been the defense that helped push Carolina to the upset win over the Raiders.
To win, the Bengals defense will have to find some life, while Joe Burrow and this offense will need to keep clicking. Nevertheless, this is the type of game that this Bengals squad needs to pull off if they want to prove to the fanbase that this team can be a playoff contender.
Now, we will just have to wait and see.
At the moment, the line sits with Cincinnati being a 4.5-point favorite over the Panthers. Pick Watch has the Bengals getting 92% of the predictions for this Week 5 matchup.
