How are you feeling about this matchup?
Not totally sure how to feel about this one.
There’s a lot of uncertainty here with both the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers dealing with key injuries.
The last time we saw Jalen Hurts enter a game without at least one of A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith was back in 2020. He’s without two of his best weapons in a game against a head coach that might own him more than any other. Doesn’t feel great.
The Bucs’ outlook also doesn’t feel great after seeing them get stomped by the Denver Broncos at home last weekend. Don’t want to put too much into one game with the NFL largely being a week-to-week league. But, seriously, what the heck was that?
Neither side appears to be at their peak right now. And so it could come down to grinding it out in an ugly, tough-fought battle.
The Eagles have every reason to heavily rely on Saquon Barkley in this one. 30 total touches might be in order, especially with the bye week to follow next weekend.
I’m 0-3 in predicting Eagles games this year, so, you should probably be concerned that I’m taking the Eagles to win in this one. But, again, the truth is that it’s hard to feel confident in what to expect from today’s game.
