Eagles linebacker Devin White has been inactive as a healthy scratch for the past couple weeks with Nakobe Dean and Zack Baun earning starting jobs over him. White didn’t even travel to Tampa in Week 4, and missed going up against his former team, the Buccaneers — but, that didn’t spare him from the dramatic outing.
It all started with an (allegedly) errant display of appreciation for his former teammate Lavonte David making a play against his current team.
He’s since deleted it, but Devin White — inactive today — retweeted a tweet about Lavonte David’s forced fumble against his own team.

White quickly took to social media — as one does in this situation — to explain that it was a mistake, but he’ll always show love to someone he’s close to.
I only meant to ♥️ it !! That’s my twin 4Life “it’s in my favorites”

Surely, though, that won’t be enough to quiet the outside noise about the situation. White has been professional throughout the whole process of being benched, but it’s also naive to think he’s not upset about it.
Even if he is on his way out of Philly sooner rather than later, it’s still not a good look. Although, to be fair, he’s definitely not the only Eagles player to support opponents, but given the whole ordeal it’s going to draw attention.
As if White’s afternoon wasn’t interesting enough, he also got a message about having to report for a drug test in Tampa… a game he didn’t travel to or play in. Good job, NFL.
Look at what tweeting got me, I’m not even at the stadium bruh pic.twitter.com/Ywih3xpm1t
