Raiders and Browns are both dealing with injury issues.
Here is your Week 4 injury wrap-up as the Cleveland Browns take on the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday.
Biggest Injury Storylines
- I was just assuming that by the end of the week, we’d here that Davante Adams and Maxx Crosby would be fine and ready to be the top threats on each side of the ball against the Browns. Instead, both are ruled out. Adams led the Raiders with 18 catches for 209 yards and 1 touchdown, and Crosby led the Raiders with 3 sacks.
- The Browns have four players ruled out: OT Jack Conklin, OT Jedrick Wills, RB Pierre Strong, and TE David Njoku. Even though Wills briefly returned last week, it’s basically the same injury situation as the past two weeks for Cleveland. The bigger difference is that OG Wyatt Teller is on IR.
- The offensive line we expect to see is LT James Hudson, LG Joel Bitonio, C Ethan Pocic, RG Zak Zinter, and RT Dawand Jones. Jones was limited all week and has been struggling. It’s possible that Cleveland puts Germain Ifedi at one of the tackle positions.
- Myles Garrett will battle through three injuries. He was effective last week, but with reduced snaps. The more Cleveland can build a lead and his teammates can pick him up, the better.
- The only player on defense whose status is uncertain is LB Jordan Hicks, who is listed as questionable. He didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday with a rib and elbow injury. However, he did practice on Friday, which gives some optimism that he’ll be ready.
Betting Odds Impact
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Browns are 1.5 point underdogs against the Raiders. They began the week as 1.5 point favorites, so that’s a 3-point difference as the week went on, presumably due to the Browns’ offensive line situation. Interestingly enough, when the news of Adams and Crosby being out was confirmed, the line did not swing back from that.
Fantasy Implications
- With the Raiders being without Maxx Crosby, Cleveland’s offensive playmakers could have a chance to get back on track this week, including RB Jerome Ford, who is one of our FanDuel player prop bets this week.
