Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 9/28/24
The Chicago Bears are hosting the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday and they may be getting Keenan Allen back into the fold of their offense. It is seemingly to be determined if Allen will play this Sunday or not but he sure seems to have a chance. If memory serves, the last time Allen took on the Rams while he was with the Las Angeles Chargers he had a nice game for himself. So far this season, LA has somewhat struggled keeping offenses in check and so this could be a big game for Caleb Williams if he has DJ Moore, Rome Odunze and Kenan Allen.

Bears injury report: Keenan Allen among three starters designated as questionable vs. L.A. Rams (marqueesportsnetwork.com)
“Allen wasn’t the only Bears starter to receive such a questionable designation. Defensive tackle Andrew Billings (knee) and safety Kevin Byard III (back) also have an uncertain playing status. Billings and Byard didn’t practice on Thursday and were limited on Friday.
While those guys don’t carry Allen’s star power, they’re essential parts of this Bears defense. Billings has been excellent on the interior season, adding some juice rushing the passer to his typically solid run defense. He would be sorely missed if he can’t go, especially against the Rams, where interior pressure is essential against quarterback Matthew Stafford.”
Spoke with Jared Verse and Braden Fiske about learning from some of missed opps with sacks and tackles for loss, and balancing aggressiveness with patience when it comes to rushing the passer.

49ers QB Brock Purdy Shockingly Admits Rams Defense Made Him Hesitate (si.com)
“Purdy himself admitted that the Rams’ unit made him freeze. He chose not to throw what could’ve been the game-winning touchdown.
“I’m going through my read. Obviously, there was a route that I thought he was going to run but he felt grass and went and took it,” Purdy told Sports Illustrated’s Grant Cohn. “And when we’re watching it after, it’s like, yes, that’s the right thing to do in that moment. For me, I’m going through my read and progression, and I’m concerned about a safety and then I see him go deep and I feel like he’s open and I’m like something’s not right in my mind per what we had drawn up.”
“I would always argue that I think our offense was the greatest offense the league has ever seen.”

Rams’ Legend claims that the ‘Greatest Show on Turf’ is greatest Offense in NFL History (ktla.com)
“I would always argue that our offense was the greatest offense that the league has ever seen. We’re on there (a list) three times. You could argue that Tom Brady had the greatest season, but to do it for three straight years the way that we did, I don’t know if there’s ever been an offense that good. We had Hall of Famers and a system that fits what all of us do. That’s what we’re speaking to, the idea of getting a system that fits your players.”
