Los Angeles looks to be on the rebound with a win and some potential big returns from IR right around the corner
The Los Angeles Rams had one of their best regular season wins of recent memory Sunday over the San Francisco 49ers. Down multiple star players, and coming off a humiliating loss vs the Arizona Cardinals, LA was in desperate need of a win. The team delivered in thrilling come from behind fashion, made even sweeter by the fact it was done against their most hated rival.
The Rams fan base always appreciates a win when it’s against the Niners, and that can be seen in our most recent poll as fan confidence in the team soars back up from 30% to 84% this week.
It’s amazing how one win can completely change the outlook of a season. Last week after the Cardinals loss, many major sports network personalities were already calling for Los Angeles to fold it up and trade QB Matthew Stafford after just two games. Now, coming off a big win vs. an expected contender, and facing the prospect of getting some major players like CB Darious Williams and WR Puka Nacua back from IR over the next couple weeks, the narrative on the Rams has completely changed.
Head coach Sean McVay was emotionally exhausted after the win, walking up to the podium to start off his press conference, he immediately let out a “Holy shit” that got some laughs and was felt by the room.
“I see better than I hear,” said McVay. “I saw a team respond after a really humbling week last week. And three hours will never define you, good or bad, unless you allow it to, and we’ve got to do a good job of being able to build on this.”

As McVay said, the Rams looked like a team that responded strong after a humbling week both on the field and in the media. Coming off the victory, now it will be up to Los Angeles to continue their winning ways and find some consistency to their play week in and week out.
LA will still be down Nacua and WR Cooper Kupp when they face one of the NFL’s best defenses in Chicago this week, but the success of Kyren Williams, the offensive line, and the current group of WRs filling in has got it feeling like the Rams are gearing up for a midseason run.
Luckily for the Rams, QB Matthew Stafford is very familiar with the Bears from his time with the Detroit Lions, holding a winning record of 12-9 over his former NFC North rivals. In 21 games vs. Chicago, the Rams QB has 35 touchdowns, 23 interceptions and 5,761 yards.
In 2021, Los Angeles opened the season against the Bears. It was Stafford’s first start with LA and he did not disappoint, completing 20 of 26 passes with 3 touchdowns, no picks and 321 yards. It was the one and only time Stafford has faced Chicago as a Ram, and he would no doubt love to have a repeat performance this Sunday.
